Do you know the difference between civic and democratic participation? Understanding both is key to being an informed Londoner. Civic participation = the ability to start or sign petitions, taking part in peaceful, legal protest, being involved in community organising, volunteering. Democratic participation = registering to vote, if eligible, voting in elections, taking part in deliberative and participatory democracy, standing for elected office. Check out the GLA Democracy Hub for more info.
